Welcome to our companion site to our new book A Radical Guide for Women with ADHD: Embrace Neurodiversity, Live Boldly and Break Through Barriers. Dr. Michelle Frank and I are so excited to have these ideas out in the world where we hope to begin a new conversation about what it means to live a proud, bold, life as a woman with brain- based challenges - a life that is not defined and limited by these differences.
The irony is that when we accept our differences, we are finally able to embrace what unites us...as women, as women with ADHD, and as human beings. When we move into this space of acceptance and connection, when we become more secure in who we are, as whole, worthy, complicated people, we are free to create change and live a life of purpose while supporting our brain-based differences more effectively.
We're tired of people trying to fix us. We're sick of being told to, "Just use a reminder app!" We wrote this book to help you claim your rights - your right to be respected, to be heard, and your right to move to the center of the stage of your own life. Yes, even with your challenges and differences.
This is a message to you first and foremost as women, and second as women with particular brain-based challenges. Welcome to the radical but simple idea that instead of trying to fix yourself you can learn to be more of yourself. In this book we help you untangle your core sense of value and self-worth from your ADHD so that you can be free to begin the process of living bravely, brightly, and boldly.
